Pesticides are increasingly being used in crop production in Vietnam. We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study on 106 subjects with the aim of describing the current status of knowledge and practices on the use of pesticides among vegetable growers in Duyen Ha commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi city in 2023 - 2024. The results showed that 97.6% of the study subjects used pesticides in their family vegetable garden. The proportion of households choosing to buy pesticides at cooperatives or cooperative distribution units accounted for 74.5%. The number of subjects exposed to pesticides for more than 10 years accounted for a high proportion of 53.5%. The percentage of vegetable growers with knowledge of pesticide use is 42.9% and the practice is 46.7%. Our study shows that vegetable growers' knowledge of the health consequences of pesticide use is still limited. The current practice of pesticide use still has many errors and does not ensure safety. It is necessary to strengthen the dissemination of knowledge and practice on pesticide safety and promote the role of cooperatives in providing information and appropriate pesticide dosage for vegetable growers in Duyen Ha commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi.
